Our Story French Immersion • Gilbert the Fox
Académie Lafayette is Kansas City’s free public French immersion charter school, now serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade. The Académie Lafayette International High School (ALIHS) at Armour Campus gives our Foxes a full pathway to grow as multilingual scholars and athletes.
Basketball at ALIHS
Foxes basketball is about more than the final score. Our teams are built on discipline, communication, and pride— the same values that guide students in the classroom. Players learn to run sets, rotate on defense, and stay poised in big moments while representing the red, white, and gold.
As the high school program grows, AL competes across the metro, building rivalries and memories. From early scrimmages to conference play, every season adds a new chapter to the story of Gilbert the Fox and the ALIHS Foxes.
The Fox Advantage
Foxes think globally and compete locally. The same skills that help AL students analyze texts in two languages help them read defenses, communicate on the floor, and adjust in real time. Coaches and teachers work together so athletes can succeed in both their coursework and their sport.

Foxes Events Homecoming • Spirit Week • Game Day
Homecoming is the headline event: a full week of school pride leading into the Valentine’s Day showdown. Spirit Week runs February 9–13, 2026, then we bring it home on Saturday, February 14, 2026 with the game-day festivities and the energy the Foxes deserve.
